–> First Golden Trout caught

Club member Scott Fluck was our first winner in the Club’s new Golden Trout contest, earning a certificate and a $100 clubhouse gift card.

Scott, who lives on Soquili Drive, caught his Golden Trout while fishing June 11 from the dam at Lake Tiaroga, using a spincaster outfit with garlic-scented Power Bait on the line.

His catch leaves three more Golden Trout yet to be caught, one in each of our other lakes, Atagahi, Ticoa and Wanteska. For identification, each rainbow trout carries a 23-karat gold leaf bead attached to a plastic tag behind its dorsal fin.

The Club kicked off the program March 8. The contest is open to anyone with a CFPOA fishing license.

Anyone catching a Golden Trout should report it to Ray Tuers, by phone at 877 5572, or email at raytuers@citcom.net . Ray, who administers the program, needs details of the catch, the tagged bead, and a photo, if possible, to verify each fish.
