The 2020 “alternative” Fish Fry was held Sept. 22nd at Atagahi Park with a new look.
Because of the restrictions on group activities in the Park, the Fry had a drive-through format this year. Club members purchased meal tickets online and then drove through Atagahi Park to pick up their food and beverages from their cars, then found a place to eat on their own.
The menu included a large catfish filet, deep-fried at the park by Club volunteers, with sides prepared by the Clubhouse. Club volunteers packaged the meals and delivered them, along with beer and soft drinks, to the passing cars. A total of 185 meals were delivered to Club members and their guests.
This year’s Fry also included our annual Wine Bonanza raffle and a raffle for gift certificates purchased by the Club from local businesses. (The Club purchased these gift certificates, rather than asking for donations, as a way of thanking our local merchants for all their past support). In addition, a special silent auction was held for a Weber Smoker donated by Lowes.
Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who helped make this event possible.
